Default What kind of barrel do I want?

I bought my RRA upper assembly about a year ago.

Now, I'm heading for a prairie dog shoot and want to take the AR but I've never been overly impressed with the accuracy of the barrel.

What barrel would you suggest.......

what length? what twist rate? what material?

and is the barrel swap something I can do myself?

I appreciate any help or suggestions.

What have you got on it now? A lot of the varmint rifles I see from the manufacturers have bull barrels, ranging anywhere from 16" to 24". Tango built a real nice varmint rifle a little while ago, maybe he's got some better info

Just as I thought, RRA offers varmint rifles in SS BB from 16" - 24" - Rock River Arms: Varmint EOP Upper Half

What kind of accuracy are you getting out of your setup now?

As for changing out the barrel I have heard that RRA uses a good amount of Loctite on theirs. I've read about a few folks that have had to use a torch to heat it up to get it to break loose.
