Bushmaster is okay but not the Best. The best brands are like DD, BCM, Noveske & LMT. Good if u are going by building it as you will know specific components, brands and you will also know what will be the prob if any case somethibg wrong with it.
Check out PSA for their LPK. Aimsurplus for Spike's lower. BCM for their uppers.
I believe building an AR is a must and a trend for lot of people these days, including me

From one Mike to another. If you're wanting only the best a factory rifle will be your best option unless you plan on having a trusted builder assemble one for you. I have both home assembled and factory assembled ARs, the factory always does a better job. There are exceptions of course. There are factories w/ bad reputations.

Knight's Armament is tops in my eyes and a value w/ all it's features.

Of course BCM is always a great choice as is Daniel Defense.

A good way to save yourself a little $ is to purchase a factory upper then a factory lower or assemble the lower yourself.

I wrote a little ditty and it goes something like this......

http://www.firearmstalk.com/forums/f20/ar15-primer-beginners-guide-59600/

leave a comment and let me know what you think!

Wanting the best is only natural, but with the flexibility of the AR platform there are so many possibilities that its best to figure out what you want from it, set a budget and then begin researching components.

Tell us what ranges you plan to shoot, what you want to use it for, what kind of shooting you plan to do, what kind of ammo plan to use, and give us a budget. $600 to $5000. Yeah you can build one for about $5000 with optics....easily. Hell I can easily build one for $20k+ too if you had the scratch! (with optics of course).

Wow $20K with optic. I hope an optic with an "all you can see thru" feature. J/k.
Yes no doubt, the sky is the limit for building an AR. Specially with the current prices.

Speaking of full auto lowers. IF one day i won millions $ from lottery, then if i request a well known AR manufacturer to make me a brand new full auto lower. Which i dont mind paying $50K-100K and file for paperworks as normally people do. Will that possible? Just a curious question, hope u all dont mind

1) buy yourself a position at your local law enforcement agency and buy yourself access to the armory. After dumping money to do that, you can get FA and select firearms for relatively cheap prices.

2) join the military then you can get one issued for free!

3) Start a business and get your FFL ducks in order.

4) buy a used one, because unless I'm mistaken, a civilian cannot get a new FA/Select fire firearm. You'll have to get it used.
