I'm looking for ways to wall-mount my AR-15.
I have a safe for storage when the guns need to be away.
In the mean time I would like to mount it vertically on the
wall.

I'm wondering if this is the best way to go:

you could try some hand towel hooks from the local hardware store. prolly cheaper and look better. that plastic thing is a bit ugly. in my loading/gun room i use rubber coated hooks on peg board to hang random rifle parts im waiting on pieces for. right now i got the pieces for an ar15 a1 hanging up waiting on a backorder to finish. works great its cheap and adjustable.

Do you keep the interior doors of your house open? If so place your AR muzzle down, pistol grip out. Muzzle on the floor w/ the top of the cheek weld resting on the door frame. Its hidden between the door and wall yet easily accessible. All you have to do is reach in between the door and wall. The AR is already in an ideal position to gab the pistol grip w/o grabbing the rail then bringing it up in order to position your trigger hand. I wouldn't do this if you have kids.

No kids, when some types of company is over they go back into the safe.

That and they stay in the master bedroom.

So there's got to be another method of mounting an AR on the wall.

My wife's Mossberg 500 uses Hercules Guitar Hooks to hang on the wall.
We also use it for our guitars:




The hooks have 2 little tabs that close as weight is applied from the guitar/gun so it doesn't easily get knocked off.


I found 2 different ways of hanging my AR on the same contraption but it doesn't have that sturdy of a grip.

This is the position I want the AR to hang. this is being balanced on the bayonet lug:

Ideally, I would like to hang the AR on the left side of the TV that you see to the left of the Shotty.

That is a good mounting solution. Id rather have mine semi hidden however. How do you remove the firearm from those "claws".

Like the coffered ceiling. Do you have lights in the molding?

The claws have a gear mechanism inside them, when you rest the gutar/firearm
on them they lower the body by about 1/2 inch and the gears rotate the
'claws' from pointing down to pointing in. Rather clever and a safe way to hang
your guitars. To get the gun/guitar out, just lift up.

This is more for displaying your firearms rather than quick access?

I would say more for display. However the Shotty is a quick access.

For HD we use 1911 & Mossberg.
