They carry a few accessories as well. Blackhawk slings and grips, a few blackhawk holsters. As the manager was walking me out with my rifle he said they plan on carrying american ak's. Now if they can only keep the ammo supply well stocked!

Well unfortunately some people need to save money and buy elsewhere. If you have the extra $150 to send to him to give to his LGS you should.. If I found a deal like that I would not hesitate and jump all over it. I've bought my guns from either the LGS or Cabelas, but if I looked around I probably could have saved money.

As far as paying more at a LGS it depends. First off, did they go the extra mile to earn their price premium? I only have one locally that does. If Walmart has a good deal you should check it out. And don't forget there are plenty of excellent online vendors that deserve your business.

In a free market, it's adapt or die. If Wal-Mart has the best deal, go for it.

I don't lose any sleep over "mom n pop" after what I learned here a few years ago

Seems most of the sporting goods/hardware/etc stores belong to a statewide "buyer's cooperatrive." They get stuff for 10-15 percent BELOW normal wholesale.

But do they cut prices to compete???? HELL NO! They charge full MSRP, then they bitch about Wally, Big 5 etc undercutting them.

Do you feel sorry for them???? I don't!

I dunno if this applies to guns. But Wal-mart sells all kinds of things. Like appliences, and electronics. I have a really good friend who is an Ex for HP. I asked him if I should buy a HP laptop at wal-mart as it was less expensive, than the HP website. He said go ahead, but we make those with much less quality than the ones we sell here?

I wonder if the gunz at wallyworld are a bit of less quality? Just my .02

Heh. I bought one direct from him for about 1/4 retail. I guess he can do that 4 times a year, and not get an ass kicking.

Short answer.....no.

The guns you get at Wal-Mart are the exact same you get from the scalpers.
