here is my retro AR15. best configuration in my opinion. handguards are from an actual m16A1 that saw service in vietnam with the 25th infantry division. got em in the 90s out of a trash bin our unit was tossing old no longer used parts and junk. barrel is an m16A1 chrome lined surplus barrel.

You know what is really rare? Original M4 triangle handguards. Colt only put them on the prototypes, to my knowledge. A few companies are offering them now, as well as for 20 inch barrels. But they have the matte finish, not the shiny finish like the originals.
