Lowers: Are over-analyzed when it comes to functional quality. Buy a decent one for a good price. If you can get a sexy name (Noveske, Black Rain, Seekins, Umbrella, etc) at a fair price, all the better. But for the most part, a lower is a lower is a lower.

Uppers: I'd highly recommend shopping at PSA and BCM. Excellent quality:cost ratio with each.

Well said, I've been trying to get that through some friends heads, but the still bought a $350 lower.

I have always wanted a nice billet lower but to me they are just to nice to use and I like to use all my rifles , I dont handle one any differently than another . If they get scratched I just remember its a tool not a show piece and thats what keeps me from buying a billet lower . Very nice , very elegant , and very clean looking , they are really a art piece in my book , too nice to use but beautiful to look at .
