hey guys thanks for the suggestions. I called the guys from rock river and man are they expensive! I'm now trying to look into finding or building an m4 like the one armalite i have posted above. i really appreciate your help in finding these things. but can i ask once more where i can piece this exact model together. I"m trying to keep it cheap...er. really appreciate your helpful suggestions for my first gun. my only other question would be: do these parts have to be shipped to am FFL dealer? thanks once again!

oh and one of the most attractive pieces i like on the armalite is the extended forward grip as displayed.

It's your money and time, but personally I'd do a little looking around for a new upper and lower and save a couple hundred dollars (at least). It isn't difficult to attach a complete upper to a complete lower, or to attach a stock to a lower.

The rifles you've picked out are nice but pricey.

Just keep in mind that if you do go with Armalite, since they have the longer handguard, it won't be quite as easy to find rails for it (if you're even planning on going that route).

A few manufacturers make the mid-length rails, but they aren't going to be all over the place like the regular carbine-length ones.
