For my second AR, I got my Upper off of Gun Broker and my lower at the gun show.

You can always go to local gun shops and have them order them for you, or you can go to the gun show whenever it comes into town.

Also, you can just type in "ar15 upper" and "ar15 lower" into Google, and there'll be tons of places online where you can order them from.

If you find a shop near you, I'd go with a lower from there. It'll be a bit cheaper in many cases.

In most online shops will want to ship to a FFL and most FFL shops will charge anywhere in the neighborhood of $20-50 to do the transaction.

Both are nice guns. A bit spendy, but nice. You could save a little bit by going to say a Stag Model 3, or something like that, and then spend the savings to dress it up the way you want. Just a thought.

Why not go with a built rifle using the same maker and have a complete rifle?

Something like:

Upper flat top, with BUIS
http://mooneysfirearms.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=50

Complete lower with standard trigger
http://mooneysfirearms.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=52

I believe Legal Trabsfer also sells "Complete" rifles minus the Lower. So you get the Kit and then put the LPK in the lower and you have a complete rifle.

Rock River Arms does the same thing. I've been "eye ballin" the above STAG setup, but I want the complete upper and build the lower myself with a NM trigger and a Mil spec buffer and aftermarket style stock (ie the new cheap er MagPul stocks that are coming out).
