Great parts man, you should be really happy with this build when it's done!

BRD is stupid contagious...you are probably already planning your next build in your head lol!

Thanks ZeusEcho! I'm definitely excited to get this build together. So far I've only installed the pivot pin because I'm waiting on some specific tools to come in. After watching a few vids, I felt like I should have them. And yeah, I do have another lower so slowly I've been getting small parts for that one too! Lol

cool man.....i just ordered a LPK and buttstock myself today. currently shopping for a lower then i need to decide on an upper. i may throw the upper together, or buy one that's complete. it'll be my first AR as well. i've taken motors out of trucks and rebuilt them in the past, so i figure this shouldnt be too hard.

Update on my build:

Well so far I've installed the pivot pin, Troy ambi mag release and the bolt catch with the Troy ambi bolt catch attachment. I'm waiting on a Noveske end plate sling adapter so I can complete the rest of the lower assembly. So far it's been smooth sailing. Watched a few videos that had some good tips. Used a 1/4" clevis pin to assist in the pivot pin installation. Also used a roll pin starter punch and bolt catch punch from brownells that worked perfectly. Definitely worth the money. I'll post some pics as soon as I complete the lower.

Just an FYI, if you do decide to go with a comp/brake and shoot at an indoor range, shooters in the lanes next to you tend to get a little irritated when you start touching off rounds. I've found that giving them a courtesy "heads up" before touching off rounds seems to ease the situation a bit more than just blasting away with no notification prior otherwise outdoor ranges are your friend haha

Ha definitely. I always give the heads up prior to sending rounds down range. Problem with the comp/brake is, I have no choice. I'm in Jersey and flash hiders are illegal, so everyone in my neck of the woods are giving each other the heads up.

Update: finally got all my parts and tools together and found a little time to complete my lower assembly. Came out perfect! Pictures coming soon. It was a lot easier then I thought it would be. The hardest part of this build so far was finding all the specific parts and the time to start the build. Next up... The upper

I started my first build. I have the upper already done and I have an extra barrel in 5.45 for a future build. I was going to build the lower from the floor up but I found too good a deal on a complete lower to pass it up. Looking forward to seeing what you've got.

Well, here are some pics of my 1st completed lower receiver! Turned out pretty good if I do say so myself. Hope you like it. Thanks to all for your tips and advice! I truly appreciate all of your feedback on my build. Also, best of luck to everyone attempting their 1st builds! Between the advice I've gotten here, YouTube vids, google research and the proper tools, this lower build was a cinch.
Here's a list of the parts I've chosen to use:
Noveske stripped lower
Cmmg lower parts kit
Troy ambi mag release
Troy ambi bolt catch/release
Troy ambi safety selector (which btw looks nothing like the advertising picture on their website and amazon website)
Timney 3lbs skeletonized trigger
Bcm mil spec receiver extension tube w/ h buffer and damage industry chrome silicon buffer spring
Magpul ctr fde stock
ATI scorpion grip
Noveske end plate w/ QD
