Default TRUGLO Front sight for railed gas block

Hi

I am new to the forum. Just finished "building" my AR15. It's nothing fancy but will work for what I want. I purchased an upper off gunbroker and will be swapping out the micro gas block for a gas block with rail. I am looking at the TRUGLO front sight (TG115) and cannot find any feedback. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this type of sight. Thanks

I'd think that would interfere w/ a RDS.

A red dot sight (RDS) uses a red dot for target acquisition so adding another colored dot in your line of sight could clutter things and may even confuse the brain.

I think MJ is refering to the fact that if you use a RDS your eye will be seeing 2 dots (one from your rds, and one from this front site) competing for dominance when setting up your sight picture. This could be viewed as counterproductive and may slow you down.

ROFL

When I first read MJ's post and he mentioned RDS, I thought he was referring to a rapid deployable stock. OK now I understand. I will not be putting on a red dot for awhile and will be using open sights. I am quite comfortable with iron sites from my military background. I will get comfortable firing this one with iron sites for awhile then throw on an optic.
