Default troy claymore break troubles

just got this today and i have an issue, i was told that it was for 1/2x28 threads but its not. i will just slip over the threads. it says 5.56 on the side but a .308 will slip thew it with about .03 of play.

any one have any idea of how to tell what threads are in this brake

That looks like it's for a 308. My 5.56 claymore brake works perfectly.

i would have thought so too. but the .308 brake says .308

this one says 5.56 but every thing points to it being for a .308

the opening is 5/8 if that helps any one

Call up troy, see what they say because they could have some issues and not realize it

just got off the phone with them, its 5/8x24 and its stamped 5.56 not 7.62

some thing is up cause they never made one like this so there having me send it to them direct

cool there paying shipping both ways and all, and i didnt even buy it direct from them. i only asked if it was right for the 7.62 cause if it was i would have just used it on my x39 build, they said that cause the treads dont match whats stamped on it not to use it at all and they would give me the right one for 5.56, how cool is that, i can see that Troy is worth the extra price for the support you will get.

Looks like to me they just mis stamped it! The one for their 308 is 5/8X24 I believe.
