DefaultThanks to you guys.....

I purchased my first tonight after work! My motorcycle sold so I figued the only sane thing to do was get an AR. It is the lefty model and I put on a foregrip and Eotech 512 on it. Future plans are a new pistol grip, single point sling mount, and many more magazines. It feels great with that foregrip on it. I absolutely can't wait to shoot it.

And a few shots I took of the ammo. Last one makes a cool background.

You said it's a lefty model, if so, I am curious as to why the mag release is on the right side still

Just the upper is lefty. The lower is a standard lower with a right side safety lever.

I can get the ambi mag release for $90 and ambi safety lever for $25. I will probably do both of those mods sooner or later. I'll see how big a deal it is for me the way it is.

EDIT: Mine must be a bit older. The newer ones have ambi safetys already on them.

Going to order the Houge Grip, Ambi Selector and Norgon Ambi Mag-Catch from their site tomorow.

I'm im excited. I have never fired a rifle so it will be a different experience over the handguns.

Welcome to the ownership and fine shooting sport of black rifles, that's a nice one...now don't go shooting an eye out, be safe, and have fun!
