Default Suggestions on first AR style rifle???

I have always been a shotgun guy for trap and skeet shooting as well as for hunting applications. But now I think its high time for me to move into another style of shooting. I believe the AR style rifle would be a great place to expand my knowledge. If you have any suggestions on a good platform to begin learning with and eventually build upon let me know. It would be greatly appreciated.

The AR15 platform is available in a wide variety of models, styles and applications. Now if your asking who, what, which one, then you will hear all kinds of feedback.

Obviously the big name brands will be exceptional rifles. But a lot of the folks here have taken some seasoned advice from others and built no-name rifles for themselves with excellent results. Others have scoured around and found great deals on complete rifles from very good manufacturers. Dig around the AR threads and you will find a wealth of info, try to dial in what you want and come back. This way you can get more specific info.

Good luck

Great time to be looking right now....income tax refund season

A lot of the good makers have deals right now, but the best I've seen have been from Rock River Arms. Check them out, and lots of the guys in the forum are happy to give you tips...that's how I was able to build mine!
