Stripped screw on my magpul BAD lever and my bolt won't lock back on my Bushmaster
So I installed a BAD lever to my old Bushmaster Carbine.
Took it to the range and the bolt wouldn't lock back on the last round when the magazine is dry. Tried removing the BAD lever but the screw got stripped. Can anyone help me either remove the BAD lever or fix it where the bolt can lock back? Thanks. |
I have BADs on every AR except my .22 and billet (BAD doesnt fit) and have never experienced that problem and have no idea how to fix it. Someone will be by soon I'm sure.

Thanks.
At this point I want to just get the bloody BAD lever off. |
Aren't you able to just drill out the screw?
I am also curious how the BAD lever would cause the bolt catch to not work, Is the BAD lever touching the side of the lower? |
It does touch the bottom of the lower a little bit but I can't take it off and readjust it.
How would I go about drilling out the screw? |
Screwed........
Spell check, Heila coil and lock tite, See your local smith or a friend that works in a machine shop. They make repare jobs easy with out welding.....;)

I would contact MAGPUL and describe your issue. Let them fix this problem. MAIN OFFICE |

Watch this vid and just do it in reverse order - it would be easier to remove the whole bolt catch so you can secure it in a vise in order to be able to work on the BAD lever with a touch of McGyverization as needed.

Thanks everybody.
It's an older AR so I'm not sure it jives with the magpul lever. I bent the lever towards the trigger just with my hand, no tools, and its working better. I might buy a new bolt catch but so far so good. Thanks again! |
