Thought I would give it a try on a standard grip, had I done this before I bought my magpul grips I could have lived with this, I really like the feel of the texture . Whipped these out in about 10 mintues

I knocked the diamonds off the stock grip with a dremel sanding drum then
I used a soldering iron because Im an electronics dummy , but its really too long and gets hot holding it up all the time , This is what I suggest

and it comes with a few different tips for different patterns , was really really easy , I did my outside lines and then stated doing squares in about 1/2" X 1/2" going in a circle until the circle was full and then did another area . The longer it sits the deeper it gets , these were literally just dab dab dab dab dab on it and thats what I got , Killer grip , almost like 120 grit sand paper

Yeah. very cool! very clever. Id like to see that on a stock AR hand guard set.
