Starting a build

Purchased the Spikes Tactical stripped lower receiver today.
And I was looking at purchasing a complete AR kit online. I have seen the particular kit I'm looking at in person and it's had some good reviews. I was wondering it anyone here had any experience with this particular kit.

Here's the lower I bought today.

Looks sketchy. Where's the specs and details? Look at PSA.

Well like I said a buddy of mine bought the kit and I've already spoken to the seller on the phone. It's legit and looks like a really nice rifle put together. I just wonder if anyone has purchased it and fired it yet.

It is your money.

Seems like its scary cheap. Looking forward to updates.

I would ask the seller to at least provide you with the barrel and upper manufacturer. You can get a complete upper from a well know manufacturer for a couple dollars more with a warranty.

Like DPMS, or what others would you suggest?

Seriously, I'd look at getting something a little more mainstream like this PSA kit. It's got all the parts for a complete AR except the stripped lower and you've already got that part. Your kit doesn't have the lower parts kit or the buttstock kit. That accounts for some of the additional cost.

This one we know is all mil-spec.

The PSA stuff is very reasonable for good quality stuff. Also look at
- Palmetto State Defense
- Stag Arms
- Barnes Precision in North Carolina

Just a few

Are you willing to build the upper? Personally, I'm more than willing to build a lower, but I prefer complete uppers. And reputable makers, too.
