I have two Vortex Strikefires and am quite happy with them. Both ordered from PSA. One was $119.99 (on sale) delivered. The other was $169 in one of PSA's package deals that included a Magpul rear MBUS. I'd also like to try the Vortex Sparc, but they were sold out when I was in the market.
Maybe the $400-600 Aimpoints and Eotechs are vastly superior to Vortex. But
probably (I'm guessing) the $150-ish Vortex optics are about 80-90% as effective and reliable as those costing 3X as much. Perhaps that's only my own ignorance, and I just don't know what I'm missing. But for now I'll go Vortex and tuck away that extra $300 to put toward my next pistol, rifle, or ammo puchase.
Very pleased with Vortex quality thus far. A Navy guy I went shooting with today often uses an AR with an Eotech. He was grilling me with questions about my Strikefire and was really impressed. Not to imply it'll replace his Eotech...but rather, it'll probably be what he buys for his next build.
