Finally found a 16" middy LE upper for sale. 509.00. Now I have all my spikes parts except the carry handle sight to build her up. Ill just put my magpul buis on it till I get the carry handle.

All done! Everything but the buffer tube is spikes. I'm geeked. Can't wait to try her out. Need to tighten the buffer tube washer. Don't have the tool. 1st build. Total = $796 and some change. But I need the carry handle sight. So that'll put me around 820+ depending where I get it.

Congrats man. I just shot my build tonight. Guy at my gun show was selling spikes uppers for $650. You did well!

Did you have to buy any tools?

No. I used a punch that I had laying around and just regular tools everyone usually has. The only odd tool I used was a chain wrench to tighten the castle nut for the buffer assembly. But I had that also.

Oh yeah. Be careful if you use that. I scratched the castle nut pretty bad. But I don't care. You can't see it unless you stare. Plus thank god it was only the nut and not the lower. The chain tore through the gorilla tape I had covering it. I am buying another castle nut just to make myself feel better.

It's a good idea to buy a wrench for the castle nut. I'd get the kind that has three teeth not just one. Very cheap, $5-10 from lots of places and you can throw it in with another order to save shipping.
