DefaultSons of Guns Building .458 AR

Happy New Year Everyone! I just saw a commercial for Will Hayden's program on the Discovery Channel this morning. It'll air Wednesday evening @ 9, 8 central, I believe. It's channel 182 in my Dish viewing pkg here in the Chicago area. I myself don't have an AR, not planning to acquire one either, but I'll sure be tuning in to see him & his Red Jacket crew do the build. They're gonna put it to use on big hogs around the Baton Rouge area when it's finished. Just thought I'd give you that may be interested the heads-up on it. jd45

JD,

Are they building a 458 SOCOM? If they are, let me tell you it will kill a Pig!
Like DRT!
I will plug it into my cell phone alarm so I do not miss the show! Thanks!

I saw the commercial. What is it they think they are doing that hasn't been done before?

It's my personal opinion that the show sucks and their stuff is wildly overpriced. The dramatics are over the top and obviously scripted.

I try over and over to watch it but never make it past a couple minutes. I want to like it so bad but am constantly disappointed.

MJ,

I think it was a previous thread that I also responded to. But I guess they got into real serious problems with the Feds about loosing some guns when the did an audit on their facility. I wonder what the total outcome is going to be on that issue. I am surprised they are still on. And you are right some of their show is pure CR-P! I guess they classify themselves as COOL! But I wold like to see a more technical show about weapons with issues like installation demonstrations, repairs and testing. "Other than the other two idiots on TV that try to tear weapons up to justify their existence on TV. I detest that show!

Larry Vickers' Tac TV and that new show Triggers are somewhat informative and quite entertaining. Triggers sometimes is a little goofy but all in all a decent firearms based show. LV's show has been a good one

I agree I would like to see a show that goes over the install, general repair, and so on of everything from the common firearm to more exotic stuff w/o the BS drama or fantasy dragon, quadruple, flying, machine guns.

What can they do with 458 socom that hasnt already been done. I have been hunting with mine for 3 or 4 years. There are guys on the 458 forum that have been doing it a lot longer. Its not like they are going to shoot at pirates? Oh waite thats already been done with the Socom. I hope they give credit to Marty for his wonderful cartridge.

I don't watch Sons of Guns either, I would if it was worth it but who has the time for something that ridiculous. Show like that give gun owners a bad name!

Fortunately there are good things to watch even if you've stuck with OTA instead of subscription - and man can you OD on YouTube, everything under the sun! Plus you can download the really good videos (I LOVE multiterabyte hard disks) and compose DVDs to watch at your leisure. Yep, video overload so who needs 2.5 men vs. the soggy bottom boys!

We used to watch 2 1/2 Men all the time until Ashton came aboard. I just can't get into it now. It's probably not him, just me not liking the change after years of Charlie.

Q, go to Tac TV's web page. I think you can watch the show there.

They are pretending no one else has ever integrally suppressed a socom before. It was a wright up several years ago which i stumbled across on the original socom forums before it got hacked about an integrally suppressed 458 that really got me thinking about one.

Maybe it will go mainstream a bit more and one of the ammo makers will publish load data!!

so now they are going to build something already been done? how are they going to make it an original? capable of shooting 1000 yards! i watched the show a few times when it first came on, but now i can't sit and watch it before the first commercial comes on. i just don't really like most reality shows, as they are IMO, scripted drama.
