something interesting from colt
http://coltcompetitionrifle.com/colt-pro-crp-18/
the new colt competition series. made under license but not by colt kinda the way umerex gets to stamp their umerax's 22lr with the colt name.
i like the handguard and the barrel fluting is kinda neat. comes with gieselle trigger surefire muzzle brake
i dont care for the tac latch they are using but everything else seems decent

Wylde chamber. 18" rifle gasand here's a first, standard asjustible gas block. I'm surprised then they don't offer a lightened bcg or buffer.....

I just purchased a CRE-18CA, a California-compliant version with a non-adjustable gas system and a few other differences (trigger, handguard). I haven't gotten it to the range yet, but I should have a few groups to report by next week.
The trigger on mine is a little creepy, but otherwise everything appears as it should. I ordered a MOE fixed rifle stock for it, and I expect sub-MOA performance at this price!
The target in the box (which was laminated! The target, not the box.) sports a three-shot group a hair under .7". I'm thinking "What's with the three shot group?!?!" but I suppose business decisions have to be made.
We'll see. The only things that matter to me are the accuracy and reliability.

An apology for saddling us with Canebrake would be nice.

So, who is making it under Colt's license? Looks similar to Stag's competition offering.

"Bold Ideas" of Canby, Oregon. The right side of the lower receiver is stamped "LICENSED TRADEMARK OF NEW COLT HOLDING CORP. MFG. BY B/I OR. USA".
