Default Sights set up?

So I recently bought my first ar-15 it's a dpms flat top and I can't decide/figure out what to do with the sights, I bought a cheap holographic sight for it but I'm not really satisfied, while I love the tectile and look of a holo I think I should prob get something with some kind of magnification.. So, any suggestion on what I should get, keeping in mind I'd like to stay under the $200 mark... Maybe even a combo of magnified and holographic, I've seen a few pics with both.. I'm going by bass pro shop to look when I get off work so any and all help is appreciated!

At what ranges do you like to shoot? Close, medium or long range?

The longer sight radius makes shooting to 50 yards a breeze, 100 yard is considered short range.

200 300ish mid range
400 up long.

I started as a pistol shooter too, shooting an AR really opened my eyes as to why pistols are considered Secondaries, and rifle/carbines are considered Primaries.

1-4X scope with red dot in a forward offset mount. Scope still works with the power off. SWFA has a deal right now that includes the mount.

Maybe try look at magpul mbus gen 2 rear & front. Cowitness it with Bushnell TRS25 ($85 incl shipping) from Amazon. Or the Nikon Prostaff 6-14x40 from Midwayusa.com ($150).

for 100 or less a cheap bushnell, simmons, tasco will work fine for you , you start getting out there get some better glass, your holo should be fine at 100 also . I like to shot my irons at 100 and Im pretty accurate with them at that far . I suggest saving and buying a decent scope unless your on a cash crunch the above will work fine .
Primary Arms makes some nice cheaper stuff out there also if on a budget
