Should I sell new ar15 to fund upgrade?!
About a month ago I built an ar15 and I love it, but recently my buddy let shoot his 14.5" ar and I love it more. So the question is, should I sell my ar in order to afford the parts (being I'm a college student) to build a pinned 14.5" upper and seekins lower? It will all be top of line parts. Or I could sell the ak (safe queen)

IDK it's a tough call. I built my first AR also and would really not want to sell it. You could just build a pinned 14.5" upper (16" OAL) to use with your current lower and start saving money for a Seekins lower to finish the 14.5" you really want later.

Sounds like a great project. And by his rifle being a 14.5in Barrel it is an SBR (Short Barreled Rifle) as you probably know and requires a Federal Stamp and registered as an SBR. So this is also a consideration. Once Registered as an SBR theoretically always an SBR. When sold or traded in the future it must be transferred through a Class III Dealer after that. You can have a 14 or 14.5" Barrel without the need of the Tax Stamp if the Flash Hider or Muzzle Break is brazed and pinned on the barrel and the overall barrel length is 16 inches.

I really like the brakes that divert the gas forward, I like the looks and. Fucnction of it but not the price. Eventually I want to get a can for it so I have let go of the kx3 for a surefire or yhm quick connect brake

If you look around you can find a KX3,lightly used for $75. Troy also makes a similar lower prices device.
Just be aware that niether does a good job as a brake.
If short is what you are looking for, a pinned and welded KX3 or troy (?) Claymore (iiirc) will alow you to use a 13.7" barrel.
