Default set screw on magpul enhanced trigger guard stuck.

Can't get the set screw all the way in. Is stuck. Polymer trigger guard. 1/16 hex tool rotating. Any ideas? Fml.

Try a slightly larger hex wrench. Try a 5/64 or even a small metric size.

I had a similar issue where I couldn't remove one, like it was bonded to the polymer or something. Stripped it and had to drill it out.

Try backing it out and then in a few times to see if it loosens up. Don't force it though.

I will try a larger hex size. Thought I would be saving a little weight with polymer but seems aluminum could have been a sure thing. Idk. Only out 11 bones if I ruin the guard.

I have used a couple of Magpuls' guards, I would use them again if the need arises.

Let Magpul know about your situation, they may have some advice, offer a new guard or something. It is worth the cost of an e-mail to ask.

Got it out and realigned guard, inserted screw with same result.

Take the set screw to harware store, buy a couple of new ones for a few cents.

I got the aluminum one, been on my ar for about a year now but I don't remember a set screw. Just a roll pin on one end and a spring loaded pin on the other.
