Instead of wasting all kinds if $$$ trying to develop a cartridge like the 7.62 x 39, but struggling with reliability issues due to poor magazine compatibility, why not work on providing modified AKs
for these sort of conditions. Lets see short ranged rifle that packs a punch, but can still be used at longer distances. . . that's the definition of the AK-47

And from what I understand the AK is popular among LEO and Military folks, as it should be.
