Yes the S&W is the MOE edition in flat dark earth. It has dustcover and forward assist. After handling both I like the Rock River trigger but I like the S&W Magpul furniture better. What I'm most concerned with is quality. I've heard good things about both, but it's hard to ignore Smiths 150+ years of building guns.

You can get that magpul stuff on a rock river as well. Just gotta order it from the magpul website

Unfortunately I'm cash poor right now but have a few guns I don't shoot so that's why I'm doing a trade. I would like to find one as close to ideal for me that I can. That way I can spend any extra cash on ammo, not changing out parts.

The MOE hand guards are reasonable. I picked mine up on Amazon for $25.

I feel ya there. I'm working on that with an M1A at the moment. Still have a lot of saving to do on my end though

I agree, if you want Magpul it doesn't make sense to buy the RRA and then buy all the extras to turn it into a MOE. I put all that MOE equipment on my last build (buying separately) but it made more sense since I wasn't replacing original equipment. The S&W MOE comes ready to go. And I think this year they have a midlength version which would be worth looking at.

Just traded for the Rock River. Dealer with the S&W backed out. I was leaning towards Rock River due to accuracy and trigger. I think it will suit my needs of target/hunting. Got the Entry Tactical. It has some upgrades, chrome lined barrel and bore, chrome BCG, winter trigger guard and Badger Tactical charging handle. It came w/ carry handle which I don't want, but being a trade....... I think I will try to trade the carry handle for Magpul MBUS - should work good with scope in quick detach mount.
