Default S/w .308??

Hi, im new to this forum, gotta say its great! I just bought a s&w mp 15 was wondering if theirs a .308 upper for it? I would like to use it deer hunting. Ive been reading the posts for a while, see a lot of smart folks on here, was hoping for any info thanks!!

I also have a smith & Wesson mp15 and i also have been looking for a .308 upper for it but all I've seen were different brands like dpms or armalite and some aftermarket brands. None by smith and Wesson so far. If you end up finding one, let me know

You will have to wait a loooong time. .308 uses a different lower, mag-well is larger, different buffer, etc.

308 or 7.62x51 uppers will not work with lowers that use 223 or 556 sized magazines. the magwell is too short for the 308winchester.

Thanks jonm that makes sense, any calibers that would fit the gun and be good for hunting?

6.8 SPC would probably be your best bet.

300BLK will give you a .308 round w/ the ability to use all of the same 5.56 parts minus barrel.

Thanks so much for the info i will look into those calibers on mon, need to put something on the x mas list for the wife! (or just suprise myself with a gift from myself lol)
