Default rifle scope for ar-15 instead of burris 556 fixed 3x sight

I'm considering buying a legitimate rifle scope for my sundevils ar15. The Burris sight I currently have on the gun is ok but the eye relief blows. I looked at the tasco .22 3-9x scope and liked it. I would like advice on rings that will fit a picitiny rail and advice on other extremely low budget scopes. Thanks.

Does the tasco .22 scope define your budget?

Bing search results were surprising to me. quite a few budget scopes with extended eye relief.

http://www.bing.com/shopping/search?q=budget+scopes+with+extended+eye+relief&qp vt=budget+scopes+with+extended+eye+relief&FORM=HUR E#x0y278

You'll want to make sure you don't go to 'long'

1" scopes and better lens should help quite a bit over a tasco .22.

That's a fine scope, but we still don't know OPs price range.
The Nikon is probably more than a tasco.

Bushnell Banner in a 3-9X40 is in your price range and should leave you enough left over for a set of extra tall scope mounts . Very affordable and it will handle the abusive bolt slamming of a AR

Bushnell bought out Tasco some time back. I still think Bushnell is better within the same price comparison of the 3-9x40 Scopes.
With these, is also the Center Point 3-9x40, or the $20 bump in price to the 4-12x40 Scope which also gives you A/O.
Another OK scope to look at would be the BSA Sweet 17(3-12x40A/O) which is calibrated for the 17HMR(longer distance over 22LR), but this going on an AR, should give you good Elevation adjustments for what you could use. Has exposed Elevation Turret and is resettable. I've seen prices from $90 to $125. Got one on a Marlin VRX 17HMR for Squirrel. Decent Glass and tough.
