Les Baer purchases his BCGs from other Manufacturers.(edited)
I looked up LB and apparently he has his own Manufacturing Facility, so I guess he now makes BCGs.
Seeing as this is a National Match BCG, it's probably(ONLY) for a 223 barrel Rifle, and Bolt won't have the MPI or HPT markings, which has been properly treated for usage with 5.56 if this is type of Rifle you have---even if it can shoot 223.
The Bolt I looked up said the Bolt was from 8620 Steel. Don't know if this is also for the Nichel Boron stuff as this is only a Coating.

That's the thing...I can't find a write up on it anywhere.
Not even on their website. I even googled the patent #..
I have a 5.56 upper and barrel. Will that be a problem?
Should I ONLY shoot .223?!

Apparently, you wrote while I was "editing" my post.
I found some regular BCG's from LB, and it said that Les Bear has his own Manufacturing Facility to keep tolerances tight. He's making BCGs now?
Yes it will work, but the Regular Bolts I saw, said they were made from 8620 Steel. I can't vouch for the Nickel Boron Bolt.

I'm confused..

So I have a 5.56 upper and a 5.56 barrel.
But the bolt is only made to shoot .223???
So I CAN'T shoot 5.56?
Sorry, I'm new to this whole thing...
Thanks for all the help

no such thing as a 223 only bolt. sometimes poorly made and high quality bolts will sheer a lug off. it happens on any firearm from ak47 to M60 to springfield 1903 parts failure does happen. it gives rise to such things when someone is using a lesser quality bolt something happens and the internet gets flooded with misinformation.

I doubt the BCG is .223 only, but maybe you could send an e-mail or something to LB customer service to be sure.

OP, this is the point I was making in your other thread. Look at the link above. BCM sells a BCG you don't have to worry about and they're good about providing detailed specs. External coatings aren't what you're after, you should be looking at specs that matter. I don't know if the Les Baer is a turd but it is mystery meat.
