My original Colt barrel came in, unfortunately the seller either neglected to tell me or didn't realize that at some point someone had painted it black. They did a good job, but black is not correct and honestly looks pretty bad. I am set up for parkerizing but not on a scale of a 20" barrel so I guess I'm 'upgrading' my set up.
Parkerizing is cheap and easy... Unless you pay to have it done, then it's expensive. I can get set up to park barrels for about the same cost of having one done. At least I'll be able to do whatever I want at that point. Silver lining, now I'm rambling
Anyway here's a few pics of my two retro uppers now, suppose one is 1967 (top) the other 1974.
You should be able to tell the color difference between the barrels in the pic, both flash hiders are correctly parkerized.
More parts inbound shortly.
Somebody else needs to pick up some of this retro weight, I can't do it all here!
