Bradam. Down where? The lake I live on (800 yds wide x 3 miles long) is frozen 10" solid. I have six AR builds that I am anxious to sight in with ammo loads I have rolled in the past month including a 300 Blackout that is a sweet shooter. Perhaps I could pack the PU with rifles and gear and come "down here" for a visit? :-)

central komifornia along the sierra nevada foothills. Had our first rain of the winter today. I have had to irrigate my trees 3 times this winter. Never before in the 20 years of farming. Good thing I have a cabin 4500' ele 45 min drive. anyway I ahoot my handguns here at the house but for the .223 308 I go to the range 45min drive but it is a 1000 yd range.

Bradam, Raised in Grass Valley know the area well. You have lots of good shooting land in the Sierras. I mounted a Nikon AR223 scope on that Red X rifle today so double anxious to get it on paper.

my red- x 308 barrel. I am having feed problems. I have fired two single shots so at least I know it goes bang. I ordered a couple of different manuf. mags, nothing to do with the barrel. Ihave a Leopold 6x18 scope. Let me know how that scope does on the ar-15, as I have the nikkon p-600 going on a 20" colt upper(ae-15), another build.
