Default A Recent Project

A couple months back I set out to build a compact but accurate precision 5.56 range AR, with an emphasis on 50-200yd group shooting. It's recently complete and bound for its first range session in a few days. It's an evenly balanced 8lb rifle. Here's what I have right now, subject to future changes:

Build Specs:
STS Arms cerakoted lower
PSA/Magpul ACS LBK
Hiperfire 'Hipertouch 24' 3lb trigger
BCM 16" midlength SS 1:8 barreled upper
STS Arms cerakoted M16 BCG
Ranier Raptor charging handle
Magpul MOE handguard, rear MBUS
RRA cantilever scope mount
Nikon ProStaff 2-7x32

I could see this thing becoming a money pit, but a fun one. Eventually I may ditch the iron sights altogether and massively upgrade the scope. But for now I'm going to play around with it for a thousand rounds or so and sort out what I want from it.

That looks great! Excellent parts and I really like how the ACS tops it off. Again, that's a great looking AR, Sweeper!

Thanks. The trigger is great. Picked it up in one of PSA's package deals.

Don't think I'll ever use that compartment in the stock, but the ACS ended up being the right fit to perfectly balance out the rifle.

Yeah, the ACS balances out the barrel and scope. I had one on my ArmaLite HBAR and liked a little more weight and size in my shoulder. With a pencil barrel I like the CTR. The MOE parts look good and I have to say, when you want a great looking magazine to top off a picture then use a Lancer!

Once I get it dialed in it should make a fine 'Hike & Strike' varminter. Part of the reason I wanted the 16" but 1:8 twist.

I've got two more rifles coming together this week, and 4 new stripped lowers beyond that (Umbrella, Quentin Def, and a pair of Noveskes). So...more pics to come I guess, LOL.
