I guess if simply buy the part from them and use a gunsmith to look it over, it shouldn't be an issue.

I've seen some pretty good deals on stripped lowers online, I guess if I don't find one I like at the store, I could always ask if they'd order it for me. PSA had a blemished lower for $60, add the $30 transfer fee, and that's still $30 cheaper than what PSA lists it for. But, I'm probably putting the cart before the horse since I haven't even checked out what the stock is at the store.

There are smiths out there who will be willing to complete the transfer and assist with assembly.

One good word that get spread about his / her service can be worth a lot more than a couple of bucks.

But one thing you should know is how long have they worked on ARs. Some people are listed as smiths, but have no knowledge except how to transfer.
