Usually not a fan of that color but its pretty good the shade magpul is using there

Yeah it looks more subdued in natural light, the flash brightens it a bit. My other ARs are all black but I like this for a change.

I'd swear earlier Magpul FDE was more of a sand color, this recent stuff seems shifted toward OD a bit.

I had a chance to do a quick load work up on my PSA freedom midlength. I can start my own post, but felt the accuracy potential of these uppers was relevant to this thread.

55gr vmax, h335 powder, Pmc brass, cci magnum primers, 2.250 coal. I loaded 10 rounds of 23.8, 24.0, 24.2, 24.4, & 24.6grains. Non free floated off bipod with no rear rest. Scope was a 3.5-10 vortex viper on 10x.

50 yards 5 shot groups. 50 yards is our local range's max.....

My best group was @ 23.8 and was also my last group. The barrel was really hot as I was in a hurry to finish up.

Theoretically this upper is capable of 1 moa @ 100 with 55grain vmaxes. Heavier bullets should yield even better results. A better shooter would also help this test.

Thanks for the accuracy test, CamoToe1. I'll be very pleased if my upper also is 1 MOA!

Thought I'd drop in a couple updated pictures of the FDE ArmaLite/PSA. I added a FDE MBUS2 and dug out a 20-rd FDE PMAG.

I updated the PSA dissipator with Magpul MOE rifle length handguards, a CTR and MBUS2. It's definitely slimed down from the fat M4 style rifle handguards. And the MBUS2 instead of carry handle drops 1/2 pound. I like it!
