On either side of my old BCG gas key screws is gouged pretty hard not sure how it happened or how it could but it is gouged to the point the screws wont come out of the gas key any ideas??

Lmfao. They are staked. That is a sign of properly installed screws. They aren't meant to come out.

That's not what I was referring to I knew that. but there is gouged metal on the gas key the pics r kinda blurry but I've never seen it not on any of my friends gas keys in their top teir ARs

Different makers have slightly different methods of staking the screws. Do a quick google image search, you'll understand.
Maybe send an email or 2 complaining about their method, Im pretty sure you wont hear them laughing thru the email.

I can't see anything. Are you referring to the line on the side of the gas key?
From the blurry Pics it doesn't appear to be deep.
I'd take a look at the chamber and see if there is a burr or something.

I checked all thru the upper no burrs in it.

But in the 3rd pic where the stake impressions are next to the key screws on the left side u can see it the best the gouges r down to bare metal on one of them and are bigger on that side.

Its the old bcg original to the rifle anyway just keeping it for back up I have a better one in it now (PSA) so not a big deal was just curious if anyone had seen anything like it.

That is staking.

All Im seeing are the stakes. Thats how Colt does theirs, as well as a few others. RRA and CMMG (at least) does it a little different.
Maybe we just arent seeing what youre talking about. How bout a clear pic? And maybe edit the pic with an arrow pointing to what youre talking about.

Are you talking about the wear along the side of the gas key on top of the carrier?

I did some quick photo editing. Are you referring to the big circle or the little one?
