thanks guys!! this idea has been knocking around for about a year but i was not sure how i wanted to go about it. a month ago i stumbled on that rainer arms ultramatch upper. my wife got me that magpul prs stock for my birthday last year. i love that stock but it didnt really fit in the scope of my other AR15's.

with those two factors it all came together into a precision build im hoping to use this winter in the league shoot at the range i attend.

the fit between the krieger barrel extension and the rainier upper is about as precise as i have ever seen. its like either krieger or rainier hand fit them together!! without the barrel nut there is absolutely no wiggle that you normally find in a typical milspec fitting. i had to use a piece of wood and a mallet to tap the reciever off the barrel!! im just amazed it is that precise. using a small chunk of wood i tapped the reciever back on the barrel for its final mating. it was that exact a match.

i just hope that it translates into precise shooting.

dunno. i dont have a scale to weigh small things with accuracy. but its heavier than a regular A2. i would guess between 12-15 pounds. weight isnt a bad thing on this type of gun.

i tried to avoid super lightweight components. the jp modular handguard is about the only lightweight component. options were limited due to it being hard to get accurate inside diameter dimensions. i would have preffered a heavier handguard.

Yeah you want some weight for a precision shooter. I was just curious because my Rem700 SPS varmint 308 with B&C Medalist M40, steel scope base and rings, and harris bipod weighs in about 16lbs IRRC. Just wondering how that beast compared to a heavy bolt gun.

Anyway looks badass man!

Don't worry about man, was only asking in case you had weighed it.

I've just been using a digital scale and subtracting the weight with me and then me with the gun. Not super accurate either but allot better than I can just estimate by holding it LOL.
