thanks!!

just a little update.

the scope mount showed up today. larue tactical 10moa spr-s. 20moa is too much for the scope im going to use which i just placed an order for.

nightforce benchrest 12-42x with NP-2DD reticle http://nightforceoptics.com/12-42-x-56-precision-benchrest/

the scope will move from time to time to several different rifles

anyway most posts suck without pics so here is the visual progress with the larue mount in place and the kns pins holding the timney trigger in

the scope showed up today. nightforce benchrest 12-42x56 with NP2DD(how could i pass on a set of double D????) reticle illuminated.

right now i just have it loosely in the mount for purposes of taking pics. with this scope i dont need a spotting scope to see the bullet holes!! less junk to tote around. im thinking ahead for a change!! it came with the sunshade which is attached and two twist on lens covers. the target knobs have their own covers as well.

as it sits now

the reticle. NP2DD its got two dots with various moa subtensions. the book gives different moa measurements for different powers of magnification and its got a big "R" for the setting where the reticle has its range finding settings. nightforce gives measurements for using the moa markings at different levels of magnification.

i left the lens cover on to get a good pic of the reticle. ill try and get a good magnified pick of a 300yd target or three this weekend.

yes, its overkill for a .223 but the AR15 isnt the only thing it will get used on. i swap scopes around a LOT. its going to ride the savage model 10 fcpsr 308 this coming weekend.

anyway thats where things stand at the moment. just waiting on the barrel and still havent decided on a front end yet.

i love doing things that is not the norm. who would put a benchrest scope on a 223?? i think it will work great. im not afraid of breaking out of the "science" of group think. if i was into doing things the "normal way" no one here would have ever seen a really cool pink mosin 91/30 much less a benchrest AR15!!
