I've still got PMags on order with someone. Primary maybe? I know it wasn't West Fork

whoever it was that had listed on their website "we are not jacking our prices, we will take your backorder, you WILL eventually receive the mags you order unless Congress bans 30-round magazines, you will NOT be charged until your order ships"

been so long ago that I ordered them I don't even remember who I placed the order with, but since I'm not out any money, I'm not too worried about it.

Part of me wonders if the orders were finally cancelled with no notice, or if someday 3 years from now I'll get a surprise package in the mail with 2 magazines in it!

Between what I had and what I've acquired in the last 6 months, I'm right around 35 between 5.56 and 7.62 pmags (including the 17 from the Boulder Airdrop). Most I paid for any of them was $20 shipped for some windowed gen 2's. I have seen several places in the last 2 weeks with pmags in stock at regular retail prices.

If you need PMAGS, call Kyle at MAC Pro last I checked, they had a ton! Find them on Facebook (Martial Arms Concepts) or 417 501-6670. Martialarmsconcepts@gmail.com

Pmags are not for AK's and SKS ... am I wrong believing this?

I've only seen 5.56/.223 in Walmart once this year and that was the Independence 5.56 Israeli stuff. And that's the only ammo I've bought since Nov. Glad I stocked up last year but I still have to ration this year.

The biggest issue with assembling an AR isn't so much getting the parts together right - it's getting the right parts together. You'll remember the quality of a gun long after you forget how much you paid for it.

I have 60-100 higher end mags. Honestly, it's hard to narrow it down at any given moment. A few weeks ago I probably had 150, and the extras were sold for well under $20 per.

Look, PMags are great. It's perfectly fair to label them as 'the stardard' by which so many others are measured. But Lancers are at least as good (arguably better; equal or better in my opinion), Troys and TangoDowns are certainly in the ballpark of similar quality. And aluminum GI mags are pretty darn reliable. Buy extra mags (and ammo, parts, etc) when the price is right.

I'm a big fan of PMags. If I can get them at a fair price right now, I buy them. If I can't I buy some of the other mentioned options. I'm loving Lancer right now.

I believe Magpul is just now starting to get into the AK business, but I don't know if they have actually started making them yet.

I hadn't heard this, but that would seem like a pretty smart move.
