Default Pistol caliber carbine, build or buy?

M about to dive into my first pistol caliber rifle and I'm wondering if I should build an AR or buy one. I hate the look of the Beretta CX4 Storm and I'm not shelling out the cash for a Kriss. Looks like I'm building one. What do y'all think? My first few builds have been fun and I'm sort of pumped about it

Also forgot about the Kel Tec. That's ugly as all hell too. Are there any I'm missing before I start a build?

No love for the Hi Point 995?

They are cheap and tough little guns.

One interesting option is the MechTech carbine upper. It will fit in a 1911 or Glock frame, depending on the configuration. If you own one or the other, it makes economic sense. Plus a better trigger than any production semiauto carbine.

That's a pretty neat concept. I like it.

I have a CX4, .45 acp. It's a blast to shoot, it's surprisingly accurate, and it fits my HD needs well.

The Hi Point carbine is certainly not to be dismissed without a fair look. The folks I know that have them like them a lot. Of course, if you dislike the look of the CX4, you're probably going to hate the Hi Point.
