Here is a pic of the lower reciever. I'm amazed at the variety of AR15 stuff out there so I was thinking about getting one of the complete rifle kits to assemble. Any suggestions?
The plan is the occasional day at the range wife and kids willing. I'd really like to take this chance to actually build a weapon from the ground up since I've never done that before. So I would like to put together a reliable, decently accurate weapon.

Chuck - There is a couple of threads of folks who did the same thing in the AR-15 section.
One member, junho, started out with NO KNOWLEDGE of the weapon and built one hell of a good gun. His thread is full of links, questions and answers, and finally his range report. Definitely check out that thread.
The guys here ALL believe in knowing your weapons and building an AR is a great way to get familiar with the weapon and what parts do what...
