Default Olympic 22-250

I just saw an article on a gun website about this olympic AR in 22-250, what are your thoughts on it? Here is the article.

The .22-250 is one of the best varmint cartridges out there. It far surpasses the .223 in velocity, while maintaining excellent accuracy. I have one in a Remington 700 which I purchased in the mid 80's. It is one of the most accurate rifles I own.

It was only a matter of time before they brought one out in an AR-15. They have them in just about every other caliber. About the only disadvantage, if you want to call it one, is that it takes proprietary magazines. That's not too much of an issue if you purchase several with the rifle. With good glass this would make a hell of a varmint rifle. For me this would be a better choice than the sub .22 caliber rifles. Bullets in every weight, shape, and type of construction imaginable are avaliable everywhere. There is enough handloading data to keep a reloader busy for months. I would like to see how one of these shoots.

Yes I am aware of the benefits of the 22-250 as I had a bull barrel Remington 700 myself, wish I still had it, it is by far my favorite varmint round. I have heard that Olympic is a make to avoid in the AR world, my buddy has one and the accuracy of the thing is not good, though it doesn't have any problems with function. I like to get another bolt but I'm a lefty so if I want one I can shoot and work the bolt well I have to pay through the arse for it.

The rifle has a free floated, 24" Stainless Steel bull barrel. So for an AR that is about as accurate of a combination as you can come up with. I hear from as many satisfied Olympic Arms shooters, as I do people who badmouth them. It's the same with all of these brands. Someone will ask what someone thinks, and it will go back and forth from there.

This gun was designed and purpose built as a varmint rifle, not "slicing the pie" in house clearing drills. It's main concern should be long range accuracy. That is a crap shoot with any rifle, in any brand or caliber. If I was into depopulating dog towns, I'd want one of these.
