Default Nickel/PTFE plating

In another thread, Sionics was being discussed. They nickel/PTFE plate their carriers. This is the first time I've heard of this. Sounds like a pretty slick technology (pun intended).

How common is this and what experience has anyone had with it?

There are a gazillion threads out there regarding Nickel/PTFE. Here is just one example from the middle of last year. The 6th post has some good info. Is it a magic coating? No.

Seems like those who support it have one, and those who put it down don't. I will probably buy a nickle plated variant at some point in time, just not now. It won't add any weight to the BCG, and if it works half as good as advertised, it will be worth the cost.

Nothing special about nickel coatings, they look nice and they so clean up bit easier, but for lubricity purposes its not any better than a phosphate coating. Its still going to require lubrication as any AR bolt and carrier will
