Newby building first ar

I'm new to the ar outside of the military, which was one brand only! I'm wanting to know which brands out their should I stay away from! But also dont want to tie up 1200 when I can buy on for that price!

check out the top of this section. there are stickies that contain good info. right now its more of a buy what you find and is fair priced.. still not lots of choices on the market with the panic buying.

most brands are as good as others, long as you take care of them.

Well I've had ppl tell me that the cheaper uppers don't fit tight on the lowers so you get the slappy wabble. Just don't want to spend money on total junk.

Slappy wabble, can't say I've had that yet. Cheap uppers can be crappy though.

Buy once, cry once.

Did Uncle Sam give you a Colt?

Did you have any major problems with it?

If not, why not just wait for prices to return to normal and nab one for yourself or hunt for a good deal?

By that time, you should have enough saved up for an Aimpoint, some PMAG's, and a case or two worth of ammo. When you're shooting on your own dime, it seems like it's AR candy and the candyman can (and will) charge an arm and a leg for a can of candy.

Just orders rock rivers lower parts kit. Wonder how long I'll be waiting
