Newbie AR-15 Which of these u like?
Both are 16" with 12" Rails one is Spike Tactical and the other is Daniel Defense. Which do u think is best for first AR?

The LW barrel on the Daniel Defense is going to make all the difference. You'll pay more than Spikes but DD all the way!

The biggest issue with assembling an AR isn't so much getting the parts together right - it's getting the right parts together.

Thanks so much for your input! I don't know enough about all the particular specifics yet for AR's. Just use to bolt action hunting rifles. Don't know where to start, soo much info. Need a basics 101 thread.

Though I have enjoyed a SpikeTactical in the past the LW DD is my favorite. Not to make it more difficult but don't forget BCM.
I think we all dream of rocking an OBR or Preda___ of some sort.

Reply....I did have a BCM picked out. What would make u pick BCM over DD?

I wouldn't necessarily pick a BCM over a DD but you could probably save yourself a couple bucks and BCM makes an outstanding rifle. I have one of each and would grab either on my way out the door.

DD all the way. You will be paying more but great rifle and they just picked up the socom contract for the military which was once owned by colt.

I also think you should throw BCM in the mix. Right there with DD but a little cheaper. Slightly more expensive than Spikes but better. You can get any rail you want, too.
