That PSA $500 rifle kit Purehavoc linked is a great deal if you want an M4 profile barrel (read Primer about barrels). You'd just add a stripped lower. Remember that a $100 lower locally and a $75 lower plus $25 transfer fee cost the same but in a free state you can have the local one the same day.

Anyway if you miss this deal there will be something else good coming down the pike. And again, get up to speed on barrel profiles. Many of us prefer midlength gas over carbine length gas. And the lightweight profile over M4 (medium) or M4A1 (heavy).

I really like that kit you just linked Havoc, so all i would need would be a stripped lower correct?
Yes, just a stripped lower to go with that build kit. I have a couple carbine length and mid length . There is very little felt difference but the mid is a littke bit smoother . The carbine however has over 8000 + rds thru it and it has ran flawless . For that price on the linked carbine u cant go wrong , and carbine has proven its self for many many years

Don't worry so much about the profile unless you want a real light weight or pencil barrel . Not that much difference until u get into a pencil barrel

Just figure out what you want and wait...within a matter of 1-15 days, PSA will likely have it up on blowout sale. I just got one of their $750 uppers for $480 using that approach.

Vortex Strikefire @ PSA for $119.99 (enter discount code 'strike' for $60 off)

It's on sale this weekend only. They also have the smaller/lighter Vortex Sparc for $30 more. Both are outstanding for the price. In my opinion you can't get a better red dot without eclipsing the $200 mark, and both of these will hold their own with most optics under $400.

Yeah, not high on CTD or Mossberg ARs.
