Update!

Got a chance to shoot this weekend. I replaced the Seekins precision gas block with a new replacement and everything is good to go now. I only have a 1-4x on it, which doesn't make for a good choice for 100 yard precision shooting with my eyes. I did zero it at 50 yards and with American eagle .223 55 gr and Fiocchi 69 gr match .223 it was making one ragged hole @ 50 yards.

I did try out a JP Lmos rifle buffer, and turned the gas block with AE .223 55gr. It cycles fast and smooth.

I did find out a few things tho. It does NOT like 55 grain fmj Tula, or MFS steel 55 gr fmj. Even when I fully opened the gas block I could not get that underpowered russian crap to shoot more than 2-3 rounds before a short cycle.

I'm pretty much done with this build, tho I plan to upgrade the muzzle brake to a Surefire MB556 for better braking, since it just sits on a bench and goes pew pew pew, I am not too concerned about muzzle rise compensation.

And maybe a new optic......crap does the madness ever end? o.O

Burris MTAC or Tac30 was pretty high on my list and a bit more on the affordable side than the PST.

I chose the PST due to the reticle, I just like it better.

The Mtac has a better daytime illumination for faster pickup, and also has the Burris Forever warranty. The glass also is comparable to the PST.

updated pics.....

I've changed out the handguards to a MI SS Gen 2 15" handguards. Vortex Viper 1-4x on an ADM mount, and MAGS EFX rifle stock. Internally, I have a JP LMOS bcg and rifle buffer.

Enjoy

AT,

What was it about the Samson hand guard that prompted you to change it out?

I found that the MI is a bit lighter and narrower. Feels better in hand and I just like the way it looks more. Its just a personal thing. Also my friend wanted to trade the Samson for the Mi, but since I just got a Geissele this build is gonna evolve yet again.
