was a response to gloves. wanted to put the groups in context as my rifle is not a target gun. if you want the actual range report on that rifle and the 03a3 they are under the range report section with more info. my groupings are no better than the op. just fewer shots. im not claiming its better or worse. just a reply not trying to one up anyone.

Never thought you were trying to one-up, your knowledge of firearms speaks for itself. Just thought it was stealing some of the thunder of the OP is all.

cd, what sights are those?? i dont think ive seen that type before. freehand thats damn good shooting. my range frowns on people shooting at a standing position. you can do it but the range officers tend to glare at you.

Those are the Magpul Gen2 backup sights. That was from seated but I couldnt adjust the front so I had to guess how high to aim. The front sight is so thick I couldnt see the actual bulls eye so Im just glad I hit the paper. LOL!

it looks, from the craptastic pics on magpul site, like a standard AR front sight post. maybe you can get a thin NM sight post. i put one on my AR and it makes shooting with irons a LOT easier.
if its the same take a look at this one its pretty good:
