Welcome to the forum man, glad to see you've got a level head somewhere in there!

These guys are all excellent guys, and offer up advice worth it's weight in gold on a daily basis. They are good men to have in your corner, you won't regret it.

Welcome to the forum Brenton! Believe it or not, us crusty old guys used to be green young guys but despite our best efforts, age and experience have managed to teach us a thing or two.

Most of us really enjoy sharing our knowledge and we ALL love to see newer "younger" shooters engaging in the sport. Just remember 2 things:

1. Many of us are Veterans and ALL of us put a premium on respect.
2. It's very easy to misread "tone" in the written word. Use of proper punctuation and "icons", go along way to avoid being misunderstood.

Now, if you could post a pic of the heat shield attachment from the piece you kept, one of us may be able to shed some light on why it broke.

Again, WELCOME TO FTF!

Tack

He may have asked about the color and receipt because there may have been a defective batch in a certain color and manufacture date. Different colors means different lot#, they may have other complaints with defects with a certain color. Hope all goes well
