223 is a varmint round usually in a bolt action, can't put 556 in that AR type 556 can put either. Regarding what brand. The one you can find

Went to the Palmetto Gun Show today. In one word - Ridiculous! Couldn't find any .30 cal carbine ammo, 5.56 was going for no less than a buck a round. The best deal on AR's were the TWS packages, and they were no bargain. You couldn't find a mini-14 for less than a 1000 bucks. The lines were wrapped around the building all day with no letup. If you're looking to buy an AR now I hope you're wealthy enough not to care, otherwise it's gonna end up a big paperweight.

You should definitely wait for all the craziness to die down then scap one up when all the prices drop.

???? Not sure what you were trying to say. Might want to try that again.

A few extra seconds can turn a sow's ear into a silk purse. Obviously that post could have used more time!

I had been looking for an AR for the past 6 months and when the shooting happened every thing dried up. Then a 2 weeks ago I was told WalMart had started getting in a few every now and then. This past Wednesday I was in WM looking for some 22 ammo and the sales clerk was putting out an AR on display. I looked at the end of the box and it said Colt LE6920. Yelled out "SOLD" without even knowing the price. Got for $1,097 plus tax. Needless to say I was a happy boy. The clerk said it was the first Colt LE6920 they had gotten in 3 months.

Went to a gun show today and only saw 1 LE6920 and they wanted $2,400.
