Default My first AR build

I had my back fused and was bored as he!!. So my lovely wife for Christmas bought me a S&W stripped lower to tinker with while I wasn't working for 2 months. I used RRA lpk, and magpul ctr mil spec collapsible stock. I also got a stripped YHM upper. Need to get some more $$$ to keep going but here are some pics. Cant decide the best part, the fact that I learned how to put it together on YouTube, or that I only shot 1 detent into orbit!

Let me know what you think. I've been really impressed with YHM products and am going with their barrel and diamond hand guard. Good plan? Let me know, I've never even shot an AR before. I'm thinking of going with a spokes bcg.

My camera is giving me troubles, I will post more later.

I'm open to any suggestion. I've had a lot of fun learning this M4 and am excited to shoot it!

I went with the YHM diamond FF rail as well. Along with their barrel. I went with the 1:7 16". Be warned, it is a bit heavy but very accurate. I built mine more for hunting so weight is not too much of a factor. I am currently planning on building a light weight rifle now.

Thanks for the response! I was thinking that same barrel. Looks like a sweet setup!

The lower really wasn't hard. I was able to do it while still in bed from my back fusion

Glad it's gone so well, Led. I love S&W stripped lowers and started my first build using one.

The biggest issue with assembling an AR isn't so much getting the parts together right - it's getting the right parts together. You'll remember the quality of a gun long after you forget how much you paid for it.
