Default My AR-15 Build
Well, most of my parts came in the other day, so I've begun my build! I'm only waiting on the upper and magazines, then I can get it put all together. I'll have to get some optics before it can be shot, but I already spent more money than the wife wanted me to, so it'll have to wait!

Specs:
Surplus Ammo and Arms lower receiver
RRA single stage trigger LPK
DPMS Pardus 6 position adjustable stock
The upper will be a DPMS 16" Carbine, and should be here this week sometime.




Building the lower was actually way easier than I had expected, and short of me making a couple of rookie mistakes, only took about thirty minutes to build. Now it's going to drive me crazy waiting for optics!

Nice job on the build...promises to be a nice SUR. Don't worry about high end optics just now...get yourself a $30 BSA red dot and blast away. You can toss it after the initial fun is had and you upgrade to the good stuff.

It's done! (ish)
Got the upper and mags yesterday, took a whopping 12 seconds to put together. (Did it during a commercial break from Top Shot, even at fast forward speed!)

Now: optics. I know what scope I'm going for, but wondering if in the meantime I should spring for a 30 dollar holo sight just to get some range time.

BTW, I've seen the appreciation SUR many time here, but can't figure out for the life of me what it stands for someone want to fill me in?
